My Weekend Joys

-- the stillness of nature. early mornings, before the world starts stirring. midday, as the sun starts warming the world around me. the breezes rustle the trees. i sit in my sunroom, windows open, listening, watching...there is a bird that makes the most unusual chirp. i swear it sounds like a drop of water hitting a puddle, magnified. can't say i'm a bird watcher, although i tried to be the second time i was in costa rica, but for a moment this weekend, i wish i'd tried harder. just to know what that was, making that attention-grabbing chirp. the train rumbles by, unseen through the foilage, but passing by like clockwork, signifying the setting of the sun, the rising of the moon. breezes still rustling, i'm sitting, still. enjoying my views and the sounds of nature. in the suburbs --

-- silent auctions. raising money for good causes. good causes? how do you give back to your community in financial and/or non financial ways? absorbing ideas, planning new action steps. following his footsteps on the dance floor as the orquesta plays, immersed in the beat, the heat, heading outdoors to cool off. dashing through the rain, giggles reign as we head off to a diabetic's dream. I have passes to the High, and plans to let the lil' folks "imagine it". how well did you spend your money this weekend --

-- fabulous! glowing from the marquee, you can see if from down the street. if i can be half as fabulous as she is in 3107 more days, it'll be a life well lived! three words: apple martini cake! [plug for the "surprise party" -- i've been hinting at this the last 3107 days; somebody oughta take the hint] birthday season is in full swing, who knew i knew this many gemini's? we get along so.well. --
